Yeah. So I used to run a blog that I learned a ton about affiliate marketing with. And I recently sold that blog and came over to YouTube and started a YouTube channel, and realized that nobody was using affiliate links. And I was like, what is going on? Especially the huge channels weren’t using these, and they weren’t using them the right way. And I thought, oh, I’ve got to tell everyone that they can make a lot of money without sponsored videos. So I’ve just come over and started my own channel about helping people live the ultimate life for less, and been incorporating affiliate links and then showing other people how to do it.

Pinterest employs an algorithm to automate the selection of pins users will see in their feed, similar to many social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. The algorithm uses several factors in its calculations, but the presence of an affiliate link is not one of them. Affiliate pins are treated just the same as pins with regular URLs in both the Pinterest feed and in Pinterest’s search functions. Additionally, if a pinner wants to give an affiliate pin extra visibility, they can promote the pin through Pinterest’s Ads Manager, just like other pins.
This is the first tip for making money with YouTube videos and affiliate links that you should follow if you are going to use the Amazon Marketplace. Remember that the affiliate links for the products that you promote on Amazon can be really long and will be pretty ugly if you put it on your video description. That’s why you should shorten your affiliate link to make it simpler and easier for people to click on it.If you choose to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, you should only use the link shortener provided by Amazon, not other link shortening services like bit.ly or private link shorteners like VTO.io. If you are participating in an affiliate program from other merchants, you should use the link shortener provided by them, if one is available.
I hope this guide helps you with starting your own YouTube Affiliate Channel. There is a lot of information here, so feel free to take in bits and pieces over time. Most YouTubers don't have instant success- it takes months of hard graft and constantly refining their technique. But if it's something you're really passionate about, now is a great time to start making videos and earning money.
I would almost always rather send traffic to a reputable mid-sized merchant than a big-box merchant like Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy or others. The commissions are usually better, the customer service is usually better, and the cookie duration is almost always better. When Walmart told me that blogs weren’t allowed in their program, I was at first surprised and a little offended, but I quickly shrugged it off. Joining Walmart’s program hadn’t even crossed my mind until they approached me at Affiliate Summit and asked what I did.
No doubt, YouTube is one of the most popular online platforms for sharing, uploading and downloading videos. Hence you can take advantage of this popularity that YouTube enjoys and earn some money with your affiliate program. One of the easiest methods available to make money online is by creating videos about your affiliate product and uploading them on YouTube.

Refine your search in the list of all advertisers with the filters to search for advertisers with certain characteristics such as Premium Advertisers, advertisers with mobile optimized sites, advertisers who offer our Merchandiser product data feed, advertisers who offer RSS feeds or who offer Media Optimization Report, or advertisers who ship to certain countries.
On the topic of looking for affiliates that cater to your niche, another way to bring on affiliates is by emailing other entrepreneurs in that niche as well. If you’re not using an affiliate program, finding other stores on your own that target an audience similar to yours and reaching out to them could be a great way to start a really profitable relationship.
On a monthly basis, I’ve had success devoting an hour or two to a couple of activities. First, I send out a monthly newsletter to my affiliates (you can typically do this within your affiliate app). In the email, I let them know about anything new that’s cooking – and encourage everyone to log into their affiliate dashboard so that he or she can share the news.
"Your shoppers will find everything they need to set their table, including a wide selection of tableware, drinkware, and patio dining sets, when they shop at Walmart.com. Plus, they'll find grills to cook up the perfect meals for all their outdoor shindigs and patio umbrellas to keep their space shaded when things really start to heat up. Whatever your shoppers need for their outdoor spaces, they'll find outdoor entertaining must-haves perfect for Summer at Walmart.com!"
Marques Brownlee, who is mentioned in this post and featured in our Top Tech Reviewers, is a fantastic example of how to include affiliate links on your YouTube videos that actually provide viewers with even greater value. With such high quality, professional tech review videos, it’s easy to see why he has a YouTube following of nearly 3.5 million people, and receives well over a million views on many of his videos.

If doing an entire ad campaign sounds a little daunting, consider promoting selects of what you post. When you see something is performing well, you can give it a bit of a boost to increase sales even more. This is a great middle ground for people interested in increasing their affiliate marketing game on Facebook but don’t have the time, energy, or desire to create strong images for an ad campaign.
A 30-day cookie is good, but a 45 to 60-day cookie would be much better. A person must signup for a free trial within 30 days of clicking your link for you to receive credit. However, store/business planning can take a while in which case the referral period might expire before the user signs up. A longer conversion window would benefit affiliates.
Also, affiliate marketing gives you greater reach across the internet. Since the reps you work with will be marketing your business via their blogs, vlogs, and social media, your brand will now have many points of content exposure online. Without this, you’d be on the hook for generating all that online buzz yourself, from just your brand’s website and social presence. In short, instead of building up your online presence to reach a hundred new people, working with a rep immediately gives you access to their online circle of friends.

One thing that has been proving to change the face of affiliate marketing as well as the way people buy consumer products is Facebook. Practically everyone is on Facebook these days, from old to young, and all over the world. If you’re wanting to reach a big audience, you might not need to look much further than one of the most visited websites and popular apps. Facebook allows people to see your posts and updates, like them, interact with them, comment on them, and share them. For Facebook’s algorithm, the more genuine interaction you get, the more the post will be seen by others. Well-crafted updates, posts, and ads can then result in profitable affiliate sales. So how can you get started with Facebook affiliate marketing?
Love the post here. I am about to run a campaign for likes and intend to get it for 2 cents per like. My only concern is, after spending a lot on testing and finally getting it for 2 cents, whenever I try to increase the budget the CPC goes up as well. What can I do to avoid this and maintain the CPC after raising the budget? Should I just let the ad run anyways? I usually start at $3/day and then change it to $10/day. Hope you can help. Thank you
Earn commissions by picking up the banner ads, links and text of Walmart products on your website. Network a lot and refer customers for purchasing through your link that you placed on your website. Every time a visitor clicks the link on your website and makes a qualifying purchase, you are eligible for getting some revenue assigned for that particular product purchased.
You can add affiliate links to your comments and pinned posts. However, you should do so in a clear, non-spammy way. For example, “My favorite WordPress list building plugin is Bloom by Elegant Themes. Convert more subscribers: owl.ly/sfdf31d” If your viewers are asking questions or wanting recommendations, you can add affiliate links to your replies as well.

Everything I promote is about mass appeal and the path of least resistance to generating conversions / $$$. It is far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

I’m very happy that I come across to your site. I would like to start working from home using Pinterest and affiliate marketing and your text here is really supportive. I also have the same issue like Jelena, related to the country where are you from. Actually, not all programs are available to all countries, and that is a huge problem. As an example, today I have tried to get an affiliate link of an adobe cut pro program but my country is not on their list. But nevertheless, I think that we should be persistent and follow good and successful as you are. Thanks for the text.
Hi Kate, on Pinterest, you can add the affiliate URL when you create the new pin on your account. If you already have the pin made and want to add the affiliate link, you can just “edit” the pin and change the URL. Hope that makes sense. In the book, Elise has a step by step tutorial with photos on how to add the URL to Pinterest in case you need more help.
Mobile ads on another platform might be the best for what you are trying to do if the survey can be completed on a mobile device. Affiliate marketing with direct links is challenging on Facebook because the costs are high and Facebook likes to disable ad accounts advertising affiliate offers. For website leads, the standard seems to be a landing page for a webinar or some other type of free event. The leads are then collected via email and I would guess that’s where the affiliate marketing starts. All the successful ads I see now are for webinars and blog post landing pages that collect an email.
While you may not have this extensive of a following right now, providing affiliate links will help you increase the quality of your videos, provide more value and a better user experience to your viewers, and (you guessed it) earn more affiliate commissions. Below we discuss 5 best practices for affiliate marketing on YouTube, some tips on how to get the most out of your affiliate links, and why it is ok to to use affiliate links on YouTube.

9. Promote your site in general via your personal news feed. Generally, your friends and family will be supportive of any creative endeavor or personal business you’re starting, and even more so if you’re successful with it. Sharing it can get some of them on board, and potentially get your friends to share it with their friends, who might follow it as well. Friends aren’t the best or highest converting demographic, but they can be a good supplement or a boost.
Affiliate networks, often considered among some of the best affiliate programs, are marketplaces where ecommerce entrepreneurs can find affiliates to promote their products. While these networks make it a bit easier to find affiliates, some also charge monthly fees, which might not make them as suitable for early stage entrepreneurs. Others take a cut of your sales, which still gives you guaranteed positive ROI as a store owner. Some affiliate networks include Share-a-Sale, Tapgerine, Commission Junction, AffiliatePrograms.com, and LinkShare.
We back these apps on a more personal level! We’ve tried most of them and found them to be risk-free and safe to use. For some apps, you will be using your personal and other sensitive information that could be hacked in some sort of way down the road. We don’t think this will happen but if you are ultra-paranoid, perhaps living under a rock best suits you.

How will you track and assess your activities? I use Google Analytics to monitor traffic from Facebook to my site. It gives me an understanding of how I’m doing and enables me to compare my Facebook traffic to other sources like Twitter, YouTube, organic search, and email marketing. Facebook provides social media analytics/insights to page and group owners. Also, there are many third-party Facebook marketing tools.

EPC: Earnings per Click are obtained by dividing the commissions earned by the number of clicks (click-throughs) that generated these commissions. Rakuten Marketing Affiliate Network uses Earnings per Hundred Clicks as it is easier to read. EPC is useful for measuring the revenue potential and conversion of your links. For example, if a link received 1000 clicks and generated $5.00 in commissions, EPC would be shown as $0.50.
Edit the Youtube video you want to add affiliate link(s) to. Click the Annotations tab and “Add Annotation.” Fill out the required info including the time you want that annotation to appear (obviously it should be when you recommend the affiliate product). Near the bottom, add your cloaked affiliate link. Apply changes, then watch the video and test your link.
Facebook had decided that the limit I was using was too low, and they “recommended” me to change it. However, the problem is that they not only recommended it. They did change the limit by themselves and I was surprised the next morning when I had already spent more than $10 and had just got like 30 new fans. The CTR was really low and I ended up paying a lot for each fan. Total mess. This is how the graph looked after that:

Today on the show, I’m talking with Michelle from Making Sense of Cents. Michelle and her husband sold their house in July of 2015 and now travel full-time in their RV. Some of their more recent adventures include a 2-week sailing trip to explore the possibility of sailing full-time in the future. Michelle is a blogger who shares income reports on her blog. If you take a look at her latest Income report, you will see that she earned over $100,000 on her blog in the month of August alone, while working less than 10 hours per week. That’s how she can afford to travel full-time.
In addition, a payment threshold of $50 compared to Amazon’s $10 sets up one more barrier to entry, especially if you’re new to the affiliate game. With Walmart positioning itself as offering the lowest prices due to its huge buying power – their tagline is “Save Money. Live Better” (which replaced its famous “Always Low Prices. Always” about ten years ago) – building up that first $50 might take quite some time, which is demotivating.
