Just like in our lemonade example, a good affiliate marketing program reduces overhead costs and reduces risk. Since it can be quite expensive to hire sales & marketing employees, having an army of affiliate partners can give you the reach and sales you’re looking for, without the staffing investment that many e-commerce businesses can’t afford in the first place.

Pins with affiliate links should have an FTC-compliant disclosure that makes it clear that purchases made through that pin will result in compensation to the original pinner. Publishers should also confirm that the advertisers they’re working with allow their affiliate links to be posted to social networks so they don’t violate the program terms within that relationship. It’s best to read and follow Pinterest’s Acceptable Use Policy.
Are Facebooks Ads worth the cost? It all depends on how much you have earmarked for Acquisition Cost (for reps), how competitive your niche is, and how well your landing page converts visitors into signups. Start with a small test of $25 to $50 in one city and see what results you get. Again, running ads is a shortcut. Generally, businesses will see better engagement and higher quality reps who are enthusiastic about your brand by acquiring them organically.
This one's for the gamers out there.. the Nintendo Creators Program works much like any other affiliate program, whereby you receive a cut of every commission Nintendo receives from your YouTube videos, so long as those videos are Nintendo-related. It was designed for any youtuber that uses Nintendo copyrighted content in their videos, as a way to give back to the creators. The entire program is run through paypal, which may put some off, but should give you peace of mind that your transactions are safe. You have a choice between registering your entire channel, or just individual videos and the advertisement revenue share is 70% for entire channels and 60% for videos.

They need a shopify plan (first 2 weeks are free, so if they do their store within one week they could actually get started for under $50, maybe less), They need a faceboob business account, which is free, and a budget of $5 per day for like 7 days (35$) to start promoting their products. As soon as they make sales, the money is directly in their paypal account (if using paypal), or there is a small deley to get their money in their bank account if they use shopify payments for example.
Marketing automation adds another wrinkle to the conversation. Some affiliates automate their posts with software like Hootsuite, but I don’t. I’ve tried automating on Facebook and was unimpressed with my results. I prefer to post natively and schedule content to meet my objectives. Still, using a third-party automation application could work for you.

eBay’s Partner Program is similar to Amazon’s, you just select the products you want to promote from their catalog and post the links. The program even has link generators, making it easier to insert them in your YouTube content. You can earn as much up to 70% of the total revenue for each transaction, and there are trackers for viewing your earnings.
If you’re using an affiliate network, the right affiliates will be able to easily find you through the built-in search feature. For example, a simple search for the word “apparel” on AffiliatePrograms.com produces a variety of search results about the best affiliate programs for 2017 under that category, along with reviews. Also, feel free to niche down your search into ‘running’ or ‘crossfit’ to pinpoint a few affiliates who understand your customer base well. They may have a blog that caters to your specific target audience.
In other words, you might have to pay higher commissions to get good affiliates up front. This strategy is an important aspect of cultivating the best affiliate program because you’ll make up for that cost through the lifetime value of each customer. Please note that while I certainly would recommend offering high commission rates, you still need to make a profit on your products so make sure to do your math and arrange your budget accordingly.
In this example, a blogger might put this link on their blog to try to get their readers to click through to your “blue widget” page and hopefully buy something. If the visitor who clicks on this link actually buys something, affiliate tracking software will automatically (usually – depends on what system you are using) pay your affiliate a percentage of the sale.
Digital Camera. If you want to make your own real life footage, you'll need to invest in a digital camera. The cost of this item depends on the quality of footage you want to take; these days you can buy cameras which shoot 4k footage, but you may only want standard HD. If your budget is tight, an iPhone camera can do a good job these days, especially if you have one of the newer models.

I just started using affiliate link for home decor on some of my Pinterest boards and I had a long disclosure. So glad I read this so now I can just put (affiliate) in the description. I’m a newbie, if you couldn’t tell. Haha. I always worry about getting in trouble with that kind of stuff. Thanks for all of the wonderful info Tasha. I look forward to reading your mini ebook 🙂
Amazon is the staple affiliate program for any youtuber, and generally the first one every new youtuber with any traction signs up for, so of course it has to be included on the list. It's super easy and free to join, and requires little to no approval. You can then choose for yourself from the amazon database what products to advertise to your audients and then earn up to 10% in advertising fees. A lot of youtubers put Amazon affiliate links in for their camera and setup equipment, as well as any makeup, clothes or gadgets they may be wearing in the video, without ever having to mention the products themselves.

A mailing list is a great resource. You can use it in a loop to get people from your website to Facebook and from Facebook to your website. It’s also a source of traffic and link clicks independent from organic and paid search. Building a mailing list is one way to help launch other sites and to help make yourself independent from reliance on paid ads.
Hi Erika, this video tutorial will help you make sure you're copying the links correctly: https://pubhelp.rakutenmarketing.com/hc/en-us/articles/205343725-How-to-Copy-and-Paste-Links-onto-Your-Website-VIDEO-. If you feel certain you're copying them correctly, then the problem may be something you'll need to work out with your website platform. You can contact support for the software you use (such as WordPress) for assistance with pasting links onto your website. Hope that's helpful.
But be CAREFUL!  There are a couple of considerations when you decide to promote affiliate products.  Number one, don’t promote crap!  Make sure it’s a good product that fits your audience.  Your Facebook Page is not an ATM.  If you oversell your audience, they will leave.  You have worked hard to build up your Facebook audience and you want to be providing value first and foremost.  So when you find something good that you believe in and will help them, then you can share it with your community.
In this video I show how you can get free likes to your Facebook Fan pages. When your page will get first 100 likes - Facebook will start display your page in their search bar. Also create groups for your affiliate product and pin/stick your post in that groups. Your post will stay on first positions and you will get traffic likes this when new members will join your groups. The more Fan pages and group you will create the more traffic you will get in future.
Hey Servando, thx for your feedback. I wouldnt mind to spend 20 bucks, if I only would find out what do I wrong at the moment. Aside from an appealing banner, I only have INTERESTS and TERRITORY as the main parameters. Whatever I changed along with them had only small influence on the global result. For example Male/Female/All – Behavior and so on. It seems to me, once you set the “foundation” with interests and territory, every other parameter has less than 5% influence on the result.
Gone are the days of coupon cutting. With the Dosh app, you’ll find local restaurants and shops that offer cash back, or money back into your account if you end up spending money there. All you have to do is link any debit or credit card through the app and you are all set! Card Linked Apps are an amazing and super easy way to earn extra money without having to lift a finger!

Ezra Firestone of Smart Marketer has developed a 21-video Ecommerce video course that teaches potential merchants how to earn sales on their online store. You can publish these videos on your own properties with your Shopify affiliate link. Each Shopify merchant who signs up through your link will earn you a one-time, 200% commission of their first monthly Shopify account fee.
As I’ve told you before, the key is to get the highest quantity of followers spending just a few bucks, and make them targeted and relevant to your niche. So if you’re promoting a niche fanpage about making money online, you should target people from premium countries that are interested in making business and money in a short time. I would target people from the age of 22 and up to 35, because before 22 they’re probably students and have no money or credit cards to spend, and 35 because sometimes “old” people just don’t trust any kind of making money online method or they’re just too busy around taking care of their family to watch our ads, if they ever  use Facebook.
The bulk of the offers that I promote pay around $20-$40 per lead, but there are others that pay more and less. However, you don't want to get caught up solely on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same and possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.
We back these apps on a more personal level! We’ve tried most of them and found them to be risk-free and safe to use. For some apps, you will be using your personal and other sensitive information that could be hacked in some sort of way down the road. We don’t think this will happen but if you are ultra-paranoid, perhaps living under a rock best suits you.
It’s no secret that consumers are now spending the majority of their digital time on their mobile devices, and 80% of Pinterest’s traffic is generated through its mobile app. This means that when users click on affiliate pins, they will most often be taken to the mobile version of advertisers’ sites. An engaging, user-friendly mobile experience, with simple checkout options will help increase conversions.
Jet is reshaping ecommerce as we know it. Based in Hoboken NJ (just 10 min from Manhattan), we are a shopping site on the relentless pursuit to build the greatest customer experience in the world. At Jet, we believe in bold. That means taking risks, asking “why not”, looking where no one’s looked before and crushing it! Our engineers are utilizing and building world class technologies, to optimize the supply chain, remove unnecessary costs, sprinkle in some surprise and delight all while saving consumers every penny possible and we’re just getting started. At Jet, we have worked hard to build a culture that stresses the importance of learning and of sharing knowledge. If you want to be part of the team that is disrupting the shopping norm and you’re capable of smashing the status quo, we have a hunch you’d look good in purple.
Click the "get started now" button and let’s get started! (see above). Select a hosting plan that fits your needs. (Normally, if you are just starting out I recommend the basic plan but, if you are really serious about this and want more resources & power go with their Prime or Pro plan). Keep in mind, you can always upgrade your plan as you grow.
A decent computer. Making videos can consume your computer's processing power and RAM. If you're making long videos, doing lots of editing and recording, your computer will need a good CPU and a decent amount of ram. A good idea is to test your current computer out and see how you get on. If you find video capturing to be sluggish or video editing software keeps crashing, it's usually a sign that you need a better computer. Upgrading RAM is very easy and cheap to do; but a good high-end CPU can cost north of $200 these days.
One way to use Facebook Pages is to focus on a theme or topic and promote related products and services. For instance, a travel and leisure page would feature content about travel, vacation, lifestyle, adventure, relaxation, and so on. The affiliate could post flash sales for discounted airfares, accommodations, and car rentals. If the affiliate has a travel blog, she can post content from her site. If you create a page about you, your posts can relate to your work, experiences, interests, and hobbies.
Side note – If you do have a blog, just about any and everything that you use on your blog (hosting, themes, plugins, etc) has an affiliate program so apply to them!  You can also check out my List of Awesome Affiliate Programs which includes everything I use on my own blogs and more!  Even if you don't “blog” about those things, you can use them for Pinterest!
Always select highly targeted fans. If your site talks about iPhones and iPads, then select people that follow Apple products, Apps, and similar. Don’t go and try for a larger audience who love all technology in general because you’ll receive less clicks and low quality fans. Even with a very targeted selection, you’ll have at least some hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of fans to promote.

Sure, you can sell to passerbys as you physically man the stand yourself, but you realize that you can sell more if you have some help. So you could hire a salesperson to sell some lemonade at another stand you own down the street. It’s a good idea, but there’s a lot of additional costs: the extra stand, the salary for your new employee, and a batch of lemonade that might not even sell.

Affiliate links are customized URLs that content publishers can include in their posts. They’re essentially ads, and publishers receive money from companies when users click on them. In the US, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that content makers identify when they’re being paid to post something, but despite that, influencers continue to skirt around disclosures. The FTC has previously sent out letters to influencers reminding them of the requirement to communicate paid relationships with brands to their followers.
Not too hard, right? Aside from the equipment you need, which at the beginning will be pretty minimal anyway, you’re not going to need to invest any money. It will only take a little bit of time to make great videos and start growing your following. Heck, if you’re super shy and don’t want your face on camera, you can just use a PowerPoint presentation and narrate a presentation for your audience. The only one stopping you from promoting affiliate products on YouTube is YOU!
Creating video tutorials can help you deliver value to your audience and drive more traffic to your affiliate link. You could create video content that teaches your viewers to set up a Shopify store, launch an ecommerce business, or find a product to sell online. Make sure to put your affiliate link in your videos. You can host your videos on YouTube to make them easy to find and easy to embed on your website. Please review and adhere to our Shopify Affiliate Program guidelines before creating or promoting your videos.
Enthusiasm. You don’t need to be bubbly and happy throughout your video — you should be yourself. But you should not speak in one tone and completely deadpan. Try to get people excited about whatever it is you’re video is about. Think of the things YOU like to see in YouTube videos and then try to do that the best you can. Remember, you will never please everyone, but you don’t have to.
On a monthly basis, I’ve had success devoting an hour or two to a couple of activities. First, I send out a monthly newsletter to my affiliates (you can typically do this within your affiliate app). In the email, I let them know about anything new that’s cooking – and encourage everyone to log into their affiliate dashboard so that he or she can share the news.
Side note – If you do have a blog, just about any and everything that you use on your blog (hosting, themes, plugins, etc) has an affiliate program so apply to them!  You can also check out my List of Awesome Affiliate Programs which includes everything I use on my own blogs and more!  Even if you don't “blog” about those things, you can use them for Pinterest!
f you don’t already have a Shopify account, don’t fret—it’s easy to acquire. Their free trial lasts just as long as LeadDyno’s does, allowing you to test their services out before fully committing to the registration. We highly recommend at least checking out their free trial first. Simply log in to their main site and enter your email address to get started.
Target's affiliate program is fairly new to the market, and only features up to 8% commission, which turns some people away but considering targets huge range of products and itst popularity as a store, it's worthwhile signing up to their affiliate program, especially if you're planning any "Target Haul" videos in the future. One of the main appeals of the target affiliate programs is it's ability to track your links. While Amazon seems to do a poor job tracking the clicks and purchases from the links you insert, Target does a great job of keeping tabs on your links for a full week, meaning that you're much more likely to earn commission for your links. They also offer some creative advertising options such as banners and widgets for creators to use in conjunction with their affiliate links.
I was interested in joining the Amazon associate program but the update rolled out. I haven’t started work as an Amazon affiliate so I was just curious to ask that is it fine if we send traffic only from social media platforms? Does Amazon allow only social traffic like Pinterest, Instagram? Will it result in a ban if we don’t add much content rather make it look like an e-commerce store?

Arguably the field that needs more neat apps is Real Estate. If you’ve ever done home shopping or selling you’ll know it’s a stressful and extremely time-consuming process. As a buyer, you want the best house for the money, and as a seller, you want the most money for your home. But one thing is for sure is that you’ll massive amounts of time shopping and selling.
Since we’re now directing Facebook users to an external page and you can’t directly promote an affiliate link I created 2 pages with Optimize press 2.0. Both landing pages had similar title/content and a video showing the power Squarespace. I really highlighted the option to get a free 14 day trial with some big arrows and that, and the only difference is that one page had a button to start the trial directly, while the other one had an opt-in form to get their email. After getting their email, they were redirected to a third landing page which was basically the same as the one with the button so they could start their trial right away, but I had already gotten their email to contact them in the future.
Niche-specific challenges: It’s relatively easy to create content for the “tech how-to” niche (like “how to install Windows” or “how to use WinRar) - you just need a screencasting software and a microphone. For niches like DIY plumbing, however, you need significant time, energy and skills. This often compels marketers to flood the easier niches, increasing competition.
(For the newbies) – A “cookie” is a tracking method.  If a company has a 60-day cookie, it means that if I click on your affiliate link and go to that site but don't purchase anything during that visit, I can go to that website directly (without using your link again) and if I make a purchase within 60 days, it will credit to you.  This cookie is only good on the device I initially use your link on.  So if I first click through your link on my phone, but then go home and visit the website directly from my computer, the cookie isn't tracking it because the cookie was on my phone.
Since Squarespace recently changed their affiliate program and tracking tools, I’m having a hard time to know if I got more conversions after 2 weeks (when the 14 days free trial expires). I registered another conversion ($100 extra) but I can’t tell if that was because of one of my campaigns or just traffic coming from my affiliate links here at Stream SEO. So I’ll leave it on $100 overall.
PS.Since I’m a big advocate of Clickbank affiliate marketing but I have include Shareasale marketplace instead of Clickbank here. Just because, I have tried many times to promote some products from both of the networks and each time found success with Shareasale affiliate links. Pinterest did not allow to embed an affiliate link from Clickbank. (It is might be because of the nature of Clickbank Hoplinks)
After successfully launching their Australian affiliate program with Rakuten Marketing, Cotton ON utilized their affiliate program as a key channel for their strategy to expand to new international markets. Through the Cotton ON Australia program, publisher partnerships in the key markets of Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore are accessed, with a bespoke US affiliate program being managed by local US account managers.
Banners, text links are provided from the site itself. You will have access to archived newsletters and banners from the site. A wide selection of products is offered to the affiliates and they can feature hot selling products on your website. You can generate any text links from the site whenever required. When your referrals click on the link and make a purchase, the commission will be credited to your account.
Hi Kate, on Pinterest, you can add the affiliate URL when you create the new pin on your account. If you already have the pin made and want to add the affiliate link, you can just “edit” the pin and change the URL. Hope that makes sense. In the book, Elise has a step by step tutorial with photos on how to add the URL to Pinterest in case you need more help.

I know many designers and photographers want to create their portfolios online and some of them pay A LOT. I mean, really. It’s like getting all of their work exposed into a beautiful website they can showcase and add into their business cards. I won’t be revealing the exact interests I targeted to reach these people but you get the idea. Many of them don’t even want to mess up with HTML and they just want stunning portfolios. So Squarespace was a great product for them for a relatively low price.
If you have products you are passionate about that you want to sell as an affiliate, it seems the ideal strategy is to use page post ads to your own website for with conversion tracking to screen out the junk clicks. Once people are on your website, then they should be only a click away from your affiliate offer and/or email list. A blog post explaining how you have used a product and then a link to it at the end I would think would have the potential to work well.
Third, go through any shopping guide posts and/or room reveal posts that you may have on your blog. Of course you want to continue pinning whatever “pinnable” graphic you have created for the post, but I also recommend pinning images of each individual product recommended in your post and swapping out the blog post url with your affiliate link to that product.

This is fascinating to me….. never, ever, ever in a million years would I have thought I’d even *consider* starting a blog but in recent years I have also dreamt of staying home with my kids (I’m also a nurse!!) AND being financially set (and then some?!). The problem is that this whole concept is so foreign and terrifying to me. This post is awesome and seems to have an incredible amount of step by steps instructions. But, I do have a few questions. What was your (or a realistic) timeline from when you very first started your blog to when you could financially do that as your “real job”? And now that you’re established I understand you have passive income but what does your schedule look like? How much time do you have with your kids? I picture having to be at the computer for 6 hours a day?!?! I just wish I could actually see what someone like you does to create your posts and “work” 😉. Thank you, and I’m sorry this comment was so long!!

That’s how you make money on Pinterest with affiliate links. Uploading the pin is simple. However, getting clicks can be a challenge in the beginning. I was struggling with that until I took a course called Pin to Profits – Affiliate Marketing. It goes over design tricks you can use on Canva or PicMonkey to entice people to click on your pins. You can learn more about the course in my interview with the creator, McKinzie Bean.
That’s right, although you might see YouTubers using much nicer (and expensive equipment) such as Pat Flynn, this is not a requirement. In fact, we highly recommend you use what you have first to decide if using YouTube for affiliate marketing is a strategy you like. If not, then you won’t have wasted any money. As with everything else, I don’t recommend you put time and effort into anything unless you actually enjoy it. Play to your strengths! If it is something you enjoy, though, then you can make an informed decision on what equipment you might want to upgrade to eventually.
If you can't find the products you are looking for in the pre-generated list from the advertiser, you can create your own links using our deep linking tools. Deep links are links that direct your site's visitors to a specific page on an advertiser's site rather than to the advertiser's homepage. They are links that go deeper into a site, such as a product page. These links tend to convert to sales much better than linking to an advertiser's home page because they direct the visitor to the product of interest. Not all advertisers allow deep linking. The Deep Linking page in the Links tab lists all of your advertiser-partners enabled for Deep Links in one place. Learn more in the Guide to Deep Linking.
Once approved, affiliate marketers can find the details of your products and promote them on their own sites and social channels via trackable links. When their readers click through and purchase your product, you get the sale, the affiliate marketer gets a commission, and, depending on the network service or platform you choose, they may also take a small fee per purchase.
