After you create posts with affiliate links on your business page, you should get into the habit of sharing them on your personal profile. Your friends and family will usually help you get more engagement out of your posts, which directly affects your post reach, by commenting, liking, or sharing them. You can also encourage your friends and family to help support your business endeavor by sharing at least one of your Facebook posts weekly.

To stray from the legalese for a moment and put a bow on all this, there are a couple other things that suggest that using affiliate links is acceptable. For one, highly successful channels have, and continue to, feature affiliate links. Secondly, everyone benefits from quality content that is enhanced by affiliate links. YouTube gains videos and viewers that they can monetize, Amazon (and other businesses with affiliate programs) gains a new inlet to their shopping site, the viewers get entertaining and informative content that offers them a way to buy what’s been discussed, and the content creators (you) are rewarded for hard work and creativity. In a situation where everyone wins, it is hard to see why anyone would want to fiddle with it.
Earn commissions by picking up the banner ads, links and text of Walmart products on your website. Network a lot and refer customers for purchasing through your link that you placed on your website. Every time a visitor clicks the link on your website and makes a qualifying purchase, you are eligible for getting some revenue assigned for that particular product purchased.
I am so delighted to have my friend Tasha from Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body here today to talk a little bit about blogging strategy– and more specifically, monetizing your blog! Tasha is my go-to source any time I have questions about using affiliate sales as an income stream for my site, and I know you will find the information she has to share incredibly helpful as well. I’ll let her take it from here!
Shopify is an eCommerce solution similar to PayPal or Stripe.com—it allows you to make sales, purchases, and payments online. For someone running an affiliate program, this is obviously a necessary piece of the puzzle. Not only do you need to get paid for your sales, but you need your customers to be able to make purchases and—much as you’d like to forget this part—you also have to pay your affiliates!

Hi Erika, this video tutorial will help you make sure you're copying the links correctly: https://pubhelp.rakutenmarketing.com/hc/en-us/articles/205343725-How-to-Copy-and-Paste-Links-onto-Your-Website-VIDEO-. If you feel certain you're copying them correctly, then the problem may be something you'll need to work out with your website platform. You can contact support for the software you use (such as WordPress) for assistance with pasting links onto your website. Hope that's helpful.
Can I ask, how would you go about promoting a photography course via facebook ads? The course is like $90. Would you create an email sequence (like a free mini course) and then recommend the real course? (but maybe this will decrease my conversion rate); or would you send facebook traffic directly to the course sales page? (but Facebook traffic might be too cold to just click and spend $90 just like that). Any insight would be appreciated 🙂
Concerningly, our results show that the overall prevalence of affiliate disclosures is low, and that the disclosures are largely of the variety the FTC specifically advocates against: the Affiliate Link disclosures. In fact, Explanation disclosures—which the FTC recommends—only appear in 1.82% and 2.43% of affiliate content on YouTube and Pinterest respectively.
In this video I show how you can get free likes to your Facebook Fan pages. When your page will get first 100 likes - Facebook will start display your page in their search bar. Also create groups for your affiliate product and pin/stick your post in that groups. Your post will stay on first positions and you will get traffic likes this when new members will join your groups. The more Fan pages and group you will create the more traffic you will get in future.
In other words, you might have to pay higher commissions to get good affiliates up front. This strategy is an important aspect of cultivating the best affiliate program because you’ll make up for that cost through the lifetime value of each customer. Please note that while I certainly would recommend offering high commission rates, you still need to make a profit on your products so make sure to do your math and arrange your budget accordingly.
Very useful info, and thanks for the heads-up about Etsy not allowing affiliate links on Pinterest! Have you ever tried advertising on Pinterest, i.e. paying Pinterest to promote your pins? I was wondering if that could be lucrative with affiliate marketing, where the margins are always lower than when you have your own product to sell. I’m also wondering if it would be lucrative to advertise on Google, Facebook and Youtube (found this guy who supposedly made a lot of money that way – https://moneytestimonials.com/crestani-free-webinar/ ). I’ll probably do my own experiments with this but if you have experience in this area I’d be very interested to hear about it!
Hi Tim! I’ve talked to Amazon about this as well, as have many other bloggers I know personally. Each one of us is getting different answers. It’s VERY frustrating. Many have been told as long as their Pinterest account is listed in their profile, it’s fine. For those that haven’t, I’ve pointed out during my calls to Amazon that you can pin Amazon affiliate products directly to Pinterest from the rewardStyle interface, so it’s silly for them to tell anyone that they can’t do it directly from their Amazon Associates account. But of course, with Amazon giving different bloggers different answers, you have to do what you are comfortable with. Or, if in doubt, pin Amazon products via rewardStyle if you are a member 🙂 Hope that helps.

12. Exclusive Contracts: More than once, when trying to onboard an Amazon affiliate into another affiliate program, we hear this response: “Amazon is the exclusive advertiser on my sites. Moreover, they covert better.” The latter convincingly justifies the former; and I applaud a merchant who can get valuable affiliates to agree to such relationships. Class act, hands down!
Love shopping online? So do we. The thing is, many people including us tend to go to other coupon sites to see if there’s a coupon before buying anything. This can turn into a treasure hunt that leads to nowhere. With expired coupons, or promo codes that simply don’t work this can be a frustrating task. Affiliate marketing is an interesting line of work to engage in because you are, in one sense, running your own business, but it’s not actually your business. As an affiliate marketer, your job is to work for your chosen client, getting others excited about the product or service being offered. However, because this job happens on the Internet, your potential customer-base is massive, and the techniques you use to generate interest are very different from older 20th century marketing techniques.
Always select highly targeted fans. If your site talks about iPhones and iPads, then select people that follow Apple products, Apps, and similar. Don’t go and try for a larger audience who love all technology in general because you’ll receive less clicks and low quality fans. Even with a very targeted selection, you’ll have at least some hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of fans to promote.
The first step to creating a successful group is choosing your niche. I talk a lot about niches because it’s an incredibly effective way to attract the right kind of audience! If you’re going to put in the effort into well-made posts, you want to make sure they will resonate with your ideal client. Know the demographics of the people you’re targeting so that you can promote the right kinds of products and services to them.
22. Run sidebar ads targeting fans of the actual brand. Sidebar ads aren’t all that useful for conversions since a lot of people ignore them or have them blocked, but the exception is when you know those people are already fans of the product specifically. This works best with brands that only produce one thing, or if you’re targeting fans of pages that are fan pages for the specific product rather than the brand as a whole.

The term affiliate marketing as it applies to Youtube is the creation of video content that contains affiliate links in the video or the description of the video. An affiliate link is a link that leads directly to a product or website, that allows the viewer who clicked it to buy the product or sign up to a subscription ect. For every person that makes a purchase through your affiliate link, you can earn "commission" or a certain percentage of the profit off each sale. It might sound tricky at first, but really the affiliate link are the easiest part, it's getting people to click on them that's hard. Really the only way is to try and drive as much traffic to your videos as possible by creating quality content and promoting yourself right. Creating content that is designed for your affiliate links rather than jamming them down your audience's throats will likely get you a lot more clicks than the other way around.
We back these apps on a more personal level! We’ve tried most of them and found them to be risk-free and safe to use. For some apps, you will be using your personal and other sensitive information that could be hacked in some sort of way down the road. We don’t think this will happen but if you are ultra-paranoid, perhaps living under a rock best suits you.

In 2010 I started my first blog, I Heart Photoshop, to teach Photoshop tutorials and how-to’s to the basic hobby user. A year later, I had jumped ship on that blog and put on my mommy blogger hat. In those early days of blogging, I was like a kid in a candy store when I would receive even $5 from an affiliate link or relationship and I would have NEVER believed that I would ever get to the point where I could generate over $1,000+/month from affiliates.
Just as a note here: I’ll soon change my auto responder series to a new one and if you’re already subscribed there you’ll receive an special document in the next few weeks (early november I guess) that you’ll love. It will be an exclusive article on the tools and procedures that I use to rank my articles and they’re proved to work. And if you see I haven’t mentioned anything about panda 2.1 or hummingbird or Google’s pterodactyl or whatever, is because I haven’t been hurt at all. In fact, every time an update like this happens I just get better and better, possibly because some competition gets wiped out with every update.
I know getting into Google Adwords and being approved is a process that can take more than 24 hours. Sometimes even days and at the end Google could not approve you. On the other hand, Facebook seems to be easier to ride on, even if it’s the first time you’ve done any kind of PPC (Pay per Click) campaign. Basically, you just open your Facebook wall, and from the left menu select the “Facebook Ads” or “Ads manager” option.
As a last option you can choose to promote your page, utilizing Facebook’s internal advertising system to get it out there. If you have the funds to do so, this is definitely something to look into. Don’t feel any rush however, as you can opt into this at any time, not just in the initial set up phase. For the purposes of this walk-through I won’t do this yet, although there is a section about Facebook Ads a little later in the lesson.
Everyone wants to be a youtuber nowadays, so everyone watching your videos will likely be eyeing them up and wondering what kind of camera equipment you use. You can profit off of this curiosity by jointing the canon affiliate program. Although the commission rate is only up to 6%, you will get full support from their advertising team and 30 day tracking of your links (making it more likely that you will actually make a commission). Plus, they will provide you with banners, text link and more creatives ways to advertise their products.

Although you might not expect PayPal to be much of a great app other than it’s bank-link functionality, there are a ton of features from this major company that goes overlooked. You can sign up for a Cash Card and withdrawal PayPal money instantly if you sell anything on eBay. PayPal Credit gives you the opportunity to buy something you may need without interest for several months (widely accepted). And now PayPal entered the Credit Card game with their 2% Cash Back Credit Card. Because there are no rotating categories like Chase Freedom offers, the stable 2% Cash Back on all purchases is a nice touch, plus there’s no limit to withdrawal the cash back. You could earn .10c on a purchase and withdrawal it! Price: FREE
I hope this guide helps you with starting your own YouTube Affiliate Channel. There is a lot of information here, so feel free to take in bits and pieces over time. Most YouTubers don't have instant success- it takes months of hard graft and constantly refining their technique. But if it's something you're really passionate about, now is a great time to start making videos and earning money.
Deep linking as a feature isn’t obvious when logged in. The “Create affiliate link” option above the dashboard isn’t for deep linking; it’s for campaign attribution. Deep linking is discussed in posts, but you must know where to look, for example, the article Getting Started as a Shopify Affiliate covers deep linking. Someone unfamiliar with deep linking might miss this strategy and the possible commissions tied to it.
Another thing about affiliate marketing is the payout percentages as well as how these people track your viewers who are clicking on these links. Every time someone clicks on one of your special tracking affiliate links, a little cookie is put onto that person’s computer to track what they purchase. The best part about the cookies is that if you link to a specific product, they don’t have to purchase that product. Anything they purchase on that website, you get commissions for. So they could click over with your affiliate link and that cookie and decide not to purchase that, but purchase a whole bunch of other things, and you get paid commission off it.
But be CAREFUL!  There are a couple of considerations when you decide to promote affiliate products.  Number one, don’t promote crap!  Make sure it’s a good product that fits your audience.  Your Facebook Page is not an ATM.  If you oversell your audience, they will leave.  You have worked hard to build up your Facebook audience and you want to be providing value first and foremost.  So when you find something good that you believe in and will help them, then you can share it with your community.
You can get lots of organic traffic by having your video rank in google search engine listings. If this is going to be your strategy, I recommend going after a niche product, because the competition will be considerably lower than if you went after a product that everyone is trying to sell. You might have a chance of ranking high for a makeup product no one has heard of but you will have zero chance of ranking for an Apple iPhone due to competition.
The process for Plus merchants and referrals is different than for regular referred Shopify plans, so your referral credit is not immediate. The Plus approval process can take a long time and will only show up on your account after the deal is closed. To learn more about the revenue that you're entitled to as a Shopify Affiliate, see Shopify Partner revenue share.

I just started using affiliate link for home decor on some of my Pinterest boards and I had a long disclosure. So glad I read this so now I can just put (affiliate) in the description. I’m a newbie, if you couldn’t tell. Haha. I always worry about getting in trouble with that kind of stuff. Thanks for all of the wonderful info Tasha. I look forward to reading your mini ebook 🙂
You’ll probably want to work with advertisers in the categories of content you already have and promote on your website. In order to start promoting advertisers on your site, you’ll first need to be approved into their programs. You can use several different tools to find advertiser programs that would be a good fit, then you will apply and receive an email notification letting you know when you’ve been approved and how to get affiliate links to use on your site.
Internet Retailer Top 500 merchant, JanSport, partnered with Rakuten Marketing on a series of cross-channel marketing campaigns promoting the launch of its Disney Collection, which features popular Disney characters on JanSport apparel and accessories. The campaigns, executed across search, display and affiliate strategies, leveraged valuable consumer data and insights to focus on shoppers who expressed the most interest in Disney themed products.
Shopify is a leading cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses. Click on the “People” link on the left nav and you can see a basic breakdown of who “liked” your page, including gender, age, and location. Use these metrics to design your landing page with your most-likely visitors in mind. For example, if the majority of your fans/visitors are Baby Boomers, you might word your affiliate program landing page differently than if your base was purely teens.

In addition, a payment threshold of $50 compared to Amazon’s $10 sets up one more barrier to entry, especially if you’re new to the affiliate game. With Walmart positioning itself as offering the lowest prices due to its huge buying power – their tagline is “Save Money. Live Better” (which replaced its famous “Always Low Prices. Always” about ten years ago) – building up that first $50 might take quite some time, which is demotivating.
