Amazon Affiliates typically pays between 3-5% commission for each product sold. What will really determine how much you earn however is your conversion rate. This number is based on the amount of people that watch your videos and then go on to purchase a product you're advertising. This can be as low as 1% but others have reported around 8%. It really depends on your niche and the products your advertising.
Always select highly targeted fans. If your site talks about iPhones and iPads, then select people that follow Apple products, Apps, and similar. Don’t go and try for a larger audience who love all technology in general because you’ll receive less clicks and low quality fans. Even with a very targeted selection, you’ll have at least some hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of fans to promote.
Creating a blog is also a great idea to along with your products. But that’s kind of the balance is you’ve got to balance like I’m developing an audience, but I need to make it sustainable. So sometimes it makes great business sense for you to go ahead and use an affiliate. And other times you’re like, you know what? Maybe not on this video because my main goal for this video is just to get it to rank really high.
I just started using affiliate link for home decor on some of my Pinterest boards and I had a long disclosure. So glad I read this so now I can just put (affiliate) in the description. I’m a newbie, if you couldn’t tell. Haha. I always worry about getting in trouble with that kind of stuff. Thanks for all of the wonderful info Tasha. I look forward to reading your mini ebook 🙂
Of all the ways to earn money on YouTube, advertising revenue stands out in most people’s minds. The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) enables users to earn money from advertisements served on their videos. A channel must reach 4,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months and 1,000 subscribers to join YPP. Google AdSense facilitates payments to content creators once a month.
Deep linking as a feature isn’t obvious when logged in. The “Create affiliate link” option above the dashboard isn’t for deep linking; it’s for campaign attribution. Deep linking is discussed in posts, but you must know where to look, for example, the article Getting Started as a Shopify Affiliate covers deep linking. Someone unfamiliar with deep linking might miss this strategy and the possible commissions tied to it.
Additionally, it happens to be that I am trying to do this with a two tier affiliate program. Meaning A group admin would post a link to my site on the FB group/page and then the user would click through to my site and then from my site I would be providing value and referring them to the actual site where they would make the purchase. Do you have any recommendations for how to best do this?
A decent computer. Making videos can consume your computer's processing power and RAM. If you're making long videos, doing lots of editing and recording, your computer will need a good CPU and a decent amount of ram. A good idea is to test your current computer out and see how you get on. If you find video capturing to be sluggish or video editing software keeps crashing, it's usually a sign that you need a better computer. Upgrading RAM is very easy and cheap to do; but a good high-end CPU can cost north of $200 these days.
They need a shopify plan (first 2 weeks are free, so if they do their store within one week they could actually get started for under $50, maybe less), They need a faceboob business account, which is free, and a budget of $5 per day for like 7 days (35$) to start promoting their products. As soon as they make sales, the money is directly in their paypal account (if using paypal), or there is a small deley to get their money in their bank account if they use shopify payments for example.
I know getting into Google Adwords and being approved is a process that can take more than 24 hours. Sometimes even days and at the end Google could not approve you. On the other hand, Facebook seems to be easier to ride on, even if it’s the first time you’ve done any kind of PPC (Pay per Click) campaign. Basically, you just open your Facebook wall, and from the left menu select the “Facebook Ads” or “Ads manager” option.
By creating a favorite things page, you can direct interested parties from all of your social platforms to this page when they ask about anything you love or use. AND you can include that link in your YouTube description knowing that it can continually be updated and improved so present and future viewers of your videos will be able to see the updated version at all times.

20. Post compelling links to optimized landing pages. In your organic feed on Facebook, you can post links to specific landing pages that you have spend some time optimizing for conversions. The point of these landing pages will not be pitching your affiliate links, and they shouldn’t even be present. Instead, just have a form users can fill out to sign up for your list, and a bunch of text explaining why they should do exactly that.
The Walmart US eCommerce team is rapidly innovating to evolve and define the future state of shopping. As the world’s largest retailer, we are on a mission to help people save money and live better. With the help of some of the brightest minds in merchandising, marketing, supply chain, talent and more, we are reimaging the intersection of digital and physical shopping to help achieve that mission.
Correct, Jeff, every affiliate’s EPC is in direct correlation with the commission level they get to. In my research, however, the exact commission level is somewhat irrelevant to know. What I was analyzing were (a) loyalty affiliates and (b) “affiliate using more diverse methods”, and based on what they reported, quoted averages of their averages (e.g.: if one reports a $30 EPC, another – $34, and yet another – $38, our average EPC for the group is $34). So, in a way, the EPC that I’m quoting above is similar to an overall program’s EPC, only split into two “types of marketing methods” used.
You can add affiliate links to your comments and pinned posts. However, you should do so in a clear, non-spammy way. For example, “My favorite WordPress list building plugin is Bloom by Elegant Themes. Convert more subscribers: owl.ly/sfdf31d” If your viewers are asking questions or wanting recommendations, you can add affiliate links to your replies as well.
“I came across LeadDyno a couple of months ago when i was unhappy with my existing referral partner software. After an easy integration i found the software really easy to use and their custom affiliate dashboard looked great too. As i built out my dashboard with banners and emails we encountered a few bugs but these guys were right onto it and provided a 5 star customer service for me (and was on the other side of the world from them, so they had to do out of hours calls and skype). “When i started digging in to the software even more i found a whole other area where it tracked leads and customers, where they were referring from and it now highlights areas on the web where my business is being talked about and i am able to participate or flag for later marketing opportunities. “The payment system is super easy to use too.my referral partners are stoked. Can’t recommend it enough.”
I did Google squarespace and for some reason I wasn’t able to easily figure out what that was, it was only after digging for a good while that I kinda got an answer to it, I think it was the affiliate thing they no longer serve that through me off, and usually I can figure out what something is very quickly in a matter of seconds, but not in this case, which is really strange.
Affiliate links were once just links. Remember that. The purpose of having links in any content (and the reason why affiliate marketing works) is because they are useful. They make purchasing the things we want easier. Don’t abuse your online platform by filling your page with spammy, pointless affiliate links. Be sure to create that quality content and only include them when and where they add value. It’s a balance that, when found, makes your viewers happier and earns you more commissions.
It is called the Affiliate Nexus Tax. States argue that even if an online retailer (Amazon for example) doesn’t have a physical presence in their state, they claim having an affiliate in the state represents a physical presence for the business, because they are helping to sell the online retailers goods in their state. So once there is a physical presence established in the state, the state then says they can collect sales tax from these merchants because of the affiliate relationship. BS if you ask me.
Inspiring other bloggers to maximize their blogging income through affiliate marketing is a huge passion of mine so I’m super excited to share my thoughts on how to use affiliate links on Pinterest to grow your affiliate earnings. Typically the landing page for your affiliate program that your affiliates are referring people to is your Shopify store’s home page, however, we also give you the ability for your affiliates to link to any page of your site which could be a specific product or category page or any page of your web site. This is known as deep linking. To set this up, please follow the instructions below:
If you can't find the products you are looking for in the pre-generated list from the advertiser, you can create your own links using our deep linking tools. Deep links are links that direct your site's visitors to a specific page on an advertiser's site rather than to the advertiser's homepage. They are links that go deeper into a site, such as a product page. These links tend to convert to sales much better than linking to an advertiser's home page because they direct the visitor to the product of interest. Not all advertisers allow deep linking. The Deep Linking page in the Links tab lists all of your advertiser-partners enabled for Deep Links in one place. Learn more in the Guide to Deep Linking.
That’s how you make money on Pinterest with affiliate links. Uploading the pin is simple. However, getting clicks can be a challenge in the beginning. I was struggling with that until I took a course called Pin to Profits – Affiliate Marketing. It goes over design tricks you can use on Canva or PicMonkey to entice people to click on your pins. You can learn more about the course in my interview with the creator, McKinzie Bean.
From our chat with an Amazon Associates customer service representative, Amazon says that their position on the use of Amazon Associates links in YouTube content is “not public information”. Therefore, we cannot present you with what exactly we were told. You also cannot find their rules, specific to the use of Amazon Associate links, documented anywhere on their website despite the fact that they have “guidelines.”
"Your shoppers will find everything they need to set their table, including a wide selection of tableware, drinkware, and patio dining sets, when they shop at Walmart.com. Plus, they'll find grills to cook up the perfect meals for all their outdoor shindigs and patio umbrellas to keep their space shaded when things really start to heat up. Whatever your shoppers need for their outdoor spaces, they'll find outdoor entertaining must-haves perfect for Summer at Walmart.com!"
You'll probably have heard of other YouTuber's mentioning a schedule of when they upload- it's because viewers tend to look for the next video added and want to know when. If your channel has a lot of subscribers, they will often by checking their subscription boxes for new videos. Having regular uploaded content helps keep your viewers onboard with your brand.
When you place an affiliate link on Facebook, you need to be clear that you’ll get paid if someone clicks on your link and purchases the product. There’s no specific terminology you need to use, but it does have to be clear that your link is an affiliate link. Even saying something as simple as “This is an affiliate link” before you place the link can suffice.
Hey, great article. It must have taken you a while to type out. So this is a cool case study, but do you know how to create ads in the make money niche? I wish there was a good video tutorial on this but I can’t find one. And how do you target people in the make money niche? It’s very hard to make ads in this niche without making income claims. Your thoughts would be appreciated. If you have any video tutorials or posts on this I would appreciate it.
On a monthly basis, I’ve had success devoting an hour or two to a couple of activities. First, I send out a monthly newsletter to my affiliates (you can typically do this within your affiliate app). In the email, I let them know about anything new that’s cooking – and encourage everyone to log into their affiliate dashboard so that he or she can share the news.
In addition, a payment threshold of $50 compared to Amazon’s $10 sets up one more barrier to entry, especially if you’re new to the affiliate game. With Walmart positioning itself as offering the lowest prices due to its huge buying power – their tagline is “Save Money. Live Better” (which replaced its famous “Always Low Prices. Always” about ten years ago) – building up that first $50 might take quite some time, which is demotivating.
